Roundhill Ski Area

In the heart of the Mackenzie Region, you will find Roundhill Ski Area, a locally owned and operated family-friendly ski field with breathtaking views of Aoraki/Mount Cook, the Southern Alps and Lake Tekapo.

An easy 30-minute drive from the Lake Tekapo township, Roundhill is known for its great beginner’s slopes and family-friendly vibe – you can even park your car right next to the beginner’s slope and have a barbecue!

The wide-open learner’s area and intermediate slopes are perfect for beginners and families. And for the more adventurous, head up the world’s longest and steepest rope tow (just watch out for vertigo!) to ski Australasia’s biggest vertical drop!

And it wouldn’t be a day at Roundhill without a refreshment from the von Brown Hut to finish off. It’s quintessential Kiwi skiing at its best.

Roundhill Ski Area – just one of our #52Reasons why you should visit the Legendary Mackenzie!
