Aviation Adventures

Aviation Adventures offer a range of unique flying experiences near Twizel or over the glaciers of Aoraki/Mount Cook and Westland Tai Poutini National Parks. They specialise in providing a personal service flying in their high-wing Cessna aircraft (perfect for photos of the glaciers) or open-cockpit Grumman Ag-Cat biplanes.

Red Cat Biplane Flights

Four great flight options to choose from! Whether you just want a short flight to experience the thrill of flying in an open-cockpit biplane or your budget allows you to fly for longer, they will be able to make your flight special. You are provided with leather jackets and a flying helmet to relive the adventure of early aviation. Wear some sunglasses and bring your phone to record your smiles with an amazing photo up in the skies!

Glacier Flights

You can choose between a flight to the Glenmary Glacier (the nearest to Twizel), visiting the Haupapa/Tasman Glacier (New Zealand’s largest) or flying over the ‘Big Three’ (Tasman, Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers). They also do flights over four spectacular Central and North Otago movie locations, including The Power of the Dog.

Based at Pukaki Airport just north of Twizel on the main Christchurch-Queenstown tourist route, they fly full-time from the beginning of September through to the end of April. During the winter, please call ahead as flights are on a less regular basis.
