Auldwood Birds

Auldwood Birds is a guided bird-watching company operating in the Mackenzie Region and throughout Canterbury.
They specialise in individually designed tours for each client’s needs.

Top of the list for birders on their Mackenzie Region tours are the kakī (black stilt), the world’s rarest wading bird and a Mackenzie icon; and the ngutu pare (wrybill) the only bird in the world with a bill that bends sideways.

Their tours explore Lake Tekapo and surrounds to give visitors the best chance to see these and many other native and endemic birds that make the Mackenzie their home.
