Lake Tekapo Regional Park

The Lake Tekapo Regional Park is made up of 165 hectares of forested land along the eastern shores of beautiful Lake Tekapo and State Highway 8.

The main carpark can be found just off Lilybank Road. There is also walking and mountain bike access from the Lake Tekapo Village directly or via the Cowans Hill track.

There’s plenty for everyone to keep entertained, including lovely picnic spots, an enclosed dog park, and 24 kilometres of cycling and walking tracks.

The tracks are graded easiest, easy and intermediate based on the national mountain bike track standards. All of the tracks are two-way and are shared with walkers and joggers. You will also find a pump track, suitable for children and adults to test their skills and have some fun.

Whether you want to take a swim during the warm summer months or get out on your mountain bike during winter, there is something here for every season.
