Tasman Glacier

Tasman Glacier

The Tasman Glacier is New Zealand’s largest glacier and flows from the Southern Alps southeast to the Mackenzie Basin. From take-off you fly up the Tasman Valley over the blue glacier lake, surrounded by the snow-capped mountain peaks. You’ll pass the Hochstetter Icefall and the cloud-piercing Aoraki/Mount Cook before landing on the upper snowfields of the Tasman Glacier.

It’s an unforgettable experience to view this glacier both from the air and underfoot. And when the engine shuts down, you’re surrounded by the serene silence that this breathtaking landscape has to offer.

Tasman Glacier flight and landing – just one of our #52Reasons why you should visit the Legendary Mackenzie.
